Welcome & About the Venue Main Street Creative Arts Center is a shared community arts venue created to support theatre, music, rehearsals, classes, workshops, visual arts, performances, and creative collaboration. Our goal is to provide an affordable and flexible environment where artists, educators, performers, and community groups can create meaningful work together. Because this is a shared-use facility, multiple groups may be operating throughout the building at the same time. We ask all renters, guests, instructors, volunteers, performers, and audience members to treat the space, equipment, and fellow community members respectfully and professionally. This handbook exists to help keep the venue organized, safe, functional, and sustainable for everyone who uses it. 2. General Venue Policies Main Street Creative Arts Center operates as a collaborative shared-use venue. Renters and guests are expected to respect common areas including lobbies, classrooms, rehearsal rooms, hallways, restrooms, backstage areas, and entrances. Noise levels should remain reasonable during overlapping rentals, and no renter may interfere with another group’s scheduled use of the facility. Access to the building is limited to approved rental times only. Rental time includes setup, rehearsal or event use, cleanup, and strike/load-out. Groups must vacate their rented spaces by the scheduled end time unless prior approval has been granted. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted unless otherwise restricted. Renters are responsible for cleaning spills, removing trash, wiping surfaces, and preventing damage to furniture, flooring, or equipment. Alcohol is only permitted with written approval and any required permits or licensing. Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside the building. Any smoking or vaping must occur outdoors in approved areas away from entrances. All renters are responsible for restoring spaces to their original condition before leaving. This includes resetting furniture, removing decorations, cleaning spills, disposing of trash, and removing personal belongings or props. Renters are financially responsible for damage caused by themselves or anyone associated with their booking, including guests, cast members, audience members, contractors, vendors, or participants. Main Street Creative Arts Center reserves the right to stop unsafe activity, enforce policies, deny future rentals, or remove guests from the property when necessary to protect the safety and functionality of the venue. 3. Booking & Reservation Policy All rentals at Main Street Creative Arts Center follow the same booking process. Renters should first review available spaces, pricing, and scheduling information before checking the public availability calendar. Availability shown online is not guaranteed until payment arrangements are completed. To request a booking, renters must submit a booking request form. Submission of a form is considered a request only and does not reserve the space automatically. Once reviewed, renters will receive a confirmation email along with invoices, agreements, or additional information if applicable. Booking requests are reviewed in the order they are received based on submission timestamps. However, dates are not officially secured until payment or deposit has been received. Standard one-time rentals require payment before the booking start time. Larger productions, rehearsal packages, or extended rentals may require a 25–30% non-refundable deposit along with signed agreements and payment schedules. Deposits are non-refundable because they secure venue availability and remove dates from public scheduling availability. If payment or deposit is not received within 48 hours of confirmation unless otherwise stated, tentative holds may be forfeited and reopened to other renters. Rescheduling requests require at least 24 hours notice and remain subject to availability. One courtesy reschedule may be granted at the discretion of venue management. Additional changes may incur administrative fees. No-shows are not eligible for refunds, credits, or transferred time. 4. Refund Policy Main Street Creative Arts Center operates on a reservation-based scheduling system, and refunds are limited due to the nature of reserving time and space within the facility. All deposits are non-refundable. Deposits secure venue availability, staffing preparation, and scheduling commitments and are not refunded due to cancellations, scheduling conflicts, no-shows, or changes in plans. One-time rentals may qualify for cancellation only within the designated cancellation period established during booking. After that period, refunds are not guaranteed. Production packages, rehearsal blocks, bundled hour packages, and extended rentals are generally non-refundable because of the amount of calendar space reserved. Unused rehearsal hours or canceled performance dates do not automatically qualify for refunds or credits. If the venue must close due to emergencies, utility failures, severe weather, government restrictions, or unforeseen operational issues, the venue may offer rescheduling, venue credit, or alternate accommodations when possible. Cash refunds are not guaranteed. Any approved refunds are issued solely at the discretion of Main Street Creative Arts Center. 5. Rehearsal Room Policies Rehearsal rooms at Main Street Creative Arts Center are intended for rehearsals, classes, workshops, coaching sessions, meetings, auditions, and creative development activities. Because the building operates as a shared-use facility, renters are expected to remain mindful of neighboring spaces and avoid excessive disruption. Common areas should remain accessible and should not be monopolized for rehearsal activity unless approved in advance. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted in rehearsal rooms unless otherwise restricted. Renters are responsible for cleanup and preventing damage to furniture or flooring. Tables, chairs, rehearsal cubes, and movable furniture may be used unless otherwise restricted but must be returned to their original locations after use. Sound levels must remain reasonable. Amplified playback, microphones, instruments, screaming, or loud vocal work may be restricted depending on neighboring activity. Rental time includes setup, rehearsal activity, cleanup, and exiting the room. Late arrivals do not extend reservation time, and late exits may result in overtime fees. Storage space is limited. Props, costumes, rehearsal materials, or personal items may not be stored between bookings unless approved in advance. Children and minors must remain supervised at all times. 6. Production Package Policy Production Packages are designed for theatrical productions, concerts, showcases, comedy events, staged readings, and other performance-based rentals requiring extended use of the venue. Packages may include rehearsal hours, performance dates, lobby usage, dressing room access, tech access, classroom or backstage access, and setup or strike time depending on the agreement. Production dates are not officially reserved until deposits, agreements, and payment arrangements are completed. Production teams are responsible for scheduling rehearsals, load-ins, strike periods, and performances through venue management. Schedules remain subject to venue operating hours, existing bookings, staffing availability, and technical limitations. Production teams are responsible for transporting and managing their own sets, props, costumes, equipment, and personnel unless otherwise agreed upon. All productions must comply with occupancy limits, fire code regulations, ADA accessibility requirements, and venue safety procedures. Main Street Creative Arts Center supports artistic freedom but reserves the right to deny productions involving unsafe activity, illegal conduct, harassment, dangerous staging, or activity that threatens venue operations or safety. 7. Tech & Equipment Policy Main Street Creative Arts Center provides shared technical equipment to support productions, rehearsals, classes, and events. Equipment may include lighting fixtures, lighting consoles, speakers, microphones, playback systems, projectors, cables, extension cords, ladders, and staging accessories. All equipment is shared community-use equipment and must be treated responsibly and respectfully. Only approved and properly trained individuals may operate venue equipment. The venue may require walkthroughs, orientation, or proof of experience before granting access to certain systems. Unless specifically contracted, rentals do not include technical staff, programming support, troubleshooting, cue programming, or emergency repair services. Renters are responsible for providing qualified operators. All equipment is provided as-is and subject to availability. Main Street Creative Arts Center does not guarantee compatibility with outside systems, uninterrupted operation, or advanced technical support. Unauthorized modifications, rewiring, tampering, or unsafe operation of equipment is prohibited. Renters are financially responsible for damage caused by misuse, negligence, improper setup, unauthorized operation, or theft during their rental period. 8. Set Construction & Paint Policy Because Main Street Creative Arts Center operates as a flexible black box and shared-use venue, all scenic construction and painting must prioritize safety, fire compliance, functionality, and preservation of the facility. Large scenic pieces, elevated structures, unusual materials, or specialty construction may require approval before being brought into the venue. Scenic materials should be standard theatrical materials appropriate for indoor performance use. Unsafe, unstable, highly flammable, or excessively hazardous materials may be prohibited. Painting scenery is only permitted in approved areas. Painting venue floors or walls, indoor spray painting, improper disposal of paint materials, or allowing paint spills on venue surfaces is prohibited without approval. Production teams may not drill into venue structures, permanently alter walls, mount into ceilings, or make structural changes without approval. All productions are responsible for fully striking their sets and removing all scenic materials, hardware, trash, paint residue, props, and personal items by the agreed strike deadline. Production teams are financially responsible for damage caused by scenic construction, paint, tools, debris, improper strike, or unsafe installation. 9. Rental Terms & Conditions By submitting payment, signing agreements, or using the facility, renters agree to comply with all venue policies and procedures established by Main Street Creative Arts Center. Use of the facility involves inherent risks associated with physical activity, theatrical production, construction work, electrical equipment, shared public spaces, and performance environments. All renters and participants voluntarily assume these risks. The renter accepts responsibility for the conduct and safety of all guests, participants, cast members, crew members, vendors, contractors, and audience members associated with their booking. Main Street Creative Arts Center reserves the right to terminate rentals immediately if policies are violated, unsafe activity occurs, occupancy limits are exceeded, payments are not made, or staff or guests are threatened or harassed. The venue is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unattended property. 10. Photography & Recording Policy Photography and video recording may occur during public events, performances, workshops, rehearsals, or community activities for promotional, archival, or educational purposes. Professional filming, livestreaming, commercial recording, or media projects require prior approval from venue management. Photography and recording should never interfere with performances, rehearsals, classes, audience experience, or venue operations. Recording is prohibited in restrooms, changing areas, or private staff-only spaces. Main Street Creative Arts Center may use approved photographs or recordings for social media, marketing, archival purposes, and website content. 11. Privacy Policy Main Street Creative Arts Center respects the privacy of website visitors, renters, students, participants, and guests. Information collected through forms, bookings, registrations, or communications may include names, contact information, billing information, booking details, and emergency contact information when applicable. Information may be used to: process reservations and payments communicate updates improve services maintain safety and security enforce venue policies Payments may be processed through third-party providers such as Wix or Square. Main Street Creative Arts Center does not store full payment card information on its own servers. Reasonable efforts are made to protect submitted information, though no online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Main Street Creative Arts Center does not sell personal information to third parties. 12. Forms & Checklists Additional operational documents may be required depending on the type of rental, event, or production. These may include: Liability Waivers Incident Report Forms Closing Checklists Tech Request Forms Production Agreements Safety Documentation Insurance Verification Forms Completion of required forms may be necessary before venue access is granted. All renters, guests, instructors, volunteers, performers, and audience members are expected to treat the space, equipment, staff, and fellow renters with professionalism and respect. 2. Respect for Shared Spaces All renters and guests are expected to help maintain a respectful and collaborative environment throughout the facility. Shared spaces such as lobbies, hallways, dressing rooms, classrooms, rehearsal areas, and restrooms should be kept reasonably clean and accessible at all times. Noise should remain at a reasonable level during overlapping rentals, and renters should avoid interfering with another group’s scheduled use of the facility. Staff instructions and posted venue signage must be followed at all times. 3. Facility Access & Hours Access to the building is limited to approved rental times only. Renters may only access the rooms included in their agreement, along with shared common areas necessary for use of the venue. Rental time includes setup, rehearsal or event time, cleanup, and strike/load-out. Groups are expected to fully vacate their rented spaces by the scheduled end time unless prior approval has been granted by venue management. Unauthorized after-hours access is prohibited. 4. Noise Policy Because Main Street Creative Arts Center operates as a shared facility with neighboring tenants, excessive noise is not permitted. Amplified sound, microphones, instruments, speakers, and music rehearsals should remain at reasonable levels. Groups may be asked to lower their volume if disruptions occur. The venue reserves the right to stop activities that create ongoing disruption or safety concerns. 5. Food & Drink Policy Food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted unless otherwise restricted for a specific rental or event. Renters are responsible for cleaning up after themselves, including removing trash, wiping surfaces, and cleaning spills immediately to prevent damage to flooring, furniture, or equipment. Alcohol is only permitted with prior written approval and any legally required licensing or permits. Illegal substances are strictly prohibited anywhere on the property. 6. Smoking & Vaping Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside the building. Any smoking or vaping must take place outdoors in designated areas away from entrances and in compliance with local laws and property regulations. 7. Children & Minors Minors must be appropriately supervised at all times while using the facility. Parents, guardians, instructors, directors, or designated supervisors are responsible for the behavior, safety, and supervision of minors in their care. Children may not be left unattended in common areas of the building. 8. Cleanup Responsibilities All renters are responsible for restoring spaces to their original condition before leaving. This includes returning furniture to its original placement, removing trash, cleaning spills, removing personal belongings or decorations, and turning off lights or equipment if instructed. Additional cleaning fees may be charged if spaces are left excessively dirty, damaged, or disorganized after use. 9. Damage to Property Renters are financially responsible for any damage caused by themselves or anyone associated with their booking, including cast and crew members, guests, vendors, audience members, or participants. This includes damage to walls, floors, furniture, curtains, lighting equipment, sound equipment, technical systems, restrooms, and lobby areas. Damage fees may include repair costs, replacement costs, labor, and operational downtime if applicable. 10. Decorations & Temporary Installations No permanent alterations may be made to the building. Unless specifically approved in advance, renters may not drill into walls, use screws or nails in venue surfaces, apply permanent adhesives, use glitter or confetti, create open flames, operate pyrotechnics, or use fog or haze effects. All temporary decorations and installations must be fully removed at the end of the rental period. 11. Safety & Emergency Compliance All renters and guests are expected to follow fire code regulations, occupancy limits, emergency exit requirements, and staff safety instructions at all times. Emergency exits must remain clear and accessible. Props, scenery, cables, furniture, and equipment may not create unsafe walking conditions or block pathways. The venue reserves the right to stop unsafe activity immediately if necessary. 12. Prohibited Activities Illegal activity, weapons, hazardous materials, unsafe rigging, dangerous stunts, unauthorized animals, open flames, harassment, or discriminatory conduct are prohibited unless specifically approved in writing where applicable. Any activity that threatens safety, damages the facility, or significantly disrupts operations may result in immediate removal from the property without refund. 13. Security Cameras Security cameras may be in operation in public or shared areas of the facility for safety and security purposes. There is no expectation of privacy in common areas. Cameras are not intended for private spaces such as restrooms or designated changing areas. 14. Lost & Found Main Street Creative Arts Center is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unattended items. Items left behind may be discarded after a reasonable holding period if not claimed. 15. Parking & Loading Guests and renters must park only in approved areas and avoid blocking neighboring businesses or loading zones. Posted parking rules should be followed at all times. Large load-ins or load-outs should be coordinated in advance whenever possible to help maintain accessibility for all tenants and guests. 16. Animals Only service animals protected under applicable law are permitted unless prior approval has been granted for a specific event or performance. Animals brought into the facility remain the responsibility of their handler at all times. 17. Photography & Recording By participating in public events at Main Street Creative Arts Center, guests acknowledge that photography or video recording may occasionally occur for promotional or archival purposes. Professional filming or recording projects require prior approval from venue management. 18. Policy Violations Failure to follow venue policies may result in additional fees, loss of deposits, cancellation of reservations, denial of future bookings, or immediate removal from the property. Main Street Creative Arts Center reserves the right to enforce policies at its discretion in order to protect the safety, functionality, and sustainability of the venue and its community. 19. If multiple requests are submitted for the same date or time, the earliest submitted request will be reviewed first. However, dates are not officially reserved until payment or deposit has been received. Submitting a booking form alone does not secure a reservation. Main Street Creative Arts Center reserves the right to release tentative holds if payment is not received within the required timeframe. 3. Payment Requirements For standard one-time rehearsals, meetings, classes, or events, full payment is required before the booking start time. Unpaid bookings may be canceled or denied access to the facility. For prepaid rehearsal blocks or bundled hour packages, such as large rehearsal packages, either a deposit or full payment is required to reserve the time block. Production rentals and larger events may require a 25–30% deposit, signed agreements, and additional payment schedules depending on the scope of the rental. Installment plans may occasionally be considered on a case-by-case basis but are not guaranteed. 4. Deposit Policy Deposits are non-refundable. Rescheduling Policy Rescheduling requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to calendar availability. One courtesy reschedule may be granted without charge. Additional rescheduling requests may incur a $5 administrative fee. Rescheduling is not guaranteed. 8. No-Shows Failure to appear for a scheduled booking without communication is considered a no-show. No-shows are not eligible for refunds, credits, or transferred time. 9. Facility Closures & Emergencies If Main Street Creative Arts Center must close due to building emergencies, safety concerns, severe weather, utility failures, or other unforeseen operational issues, affected renters may receive a venue credit, rescheduled booking, or alternate accommodation when possible. Cash refunds are not guaranteed. 10. Overtime & Extended Use Rental time includes setup, rehearsal or event use, cleanup, and load-out. Groups that remain in the space beyond their scheduled booking time will be charged for the additional time used. Late arrivals do not extend reservation end times. If another booking is scheduled immediately afterward, renters may be required to vacate promptly regardless of delayed start time. 11. Minimum Booking Requirements Bookings scheduled between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM may require a minimum reservation of three hours depending on the space and availability. Main Street Creative Arts Center reserves the right to decline shorter bookings during peak hours. 12. Non-Transferable Bookings Reservations may not be transferred, resold, reassigned, or subleased to another individual, company, or organization without written approval from Main Street Creative Arts Center. 13. Accepted Payment Methods Accepted payment methods currently include Square invoice/payment links and cash. Additional payment methods may be added or removed at any time. 14. Pricing & Rate Changes Rates, rental structures, and package pricing are subject to change without notice. Quotes, verbal discussions, screenshots, advertisements, or previous pricing do not guarantee future rates. Pricing is only considered official once an invoice has been issued and payment arrangements have been confirmed. 15. Right to Refuse or Cancel Bookings Main Street Creative Arts Center reserves the right to deny bookings, cancel reservations, or revoke access due to policy violations, unsafe behavior, nonpayment, repeated scheduling issues, or misuse of the facility. 16. The renter accepts responsibility for themselves and anyone associated with their booking, including cast and crew members, instructors, vendors, volunteers, guests, audience members, and participants involved in the rental. 2. Use of the Facility The facility may only be used for activities approved during the booking process. Any major changes to the event, including attendance size, technical needs, hazardous performance content, special effects, alcohol service, vendors, or event type, must be disclosed and approved in advance. Main Street Creative Arts Center reserves the right to deny or terminate activities that exceed the agreed-upon use of the space. 3. Assumption of Risk Use of the facility involves inherent risks, including physical activity, theatrical production hazards, lifting and construction activity, use of lighting and sound equipment, audience interaction, electrical equipment, trip hazards, and use of shared public spaces. All renters and participants voluntarily assume these risks. Main Street Creative Arts Center, Meta Mystics LLC, venue ownership, staff, volunteers, contractors, and affiliates are not responsible for injuries, accidents, illness, theft, property loss, or damages occurring during use of the facility except where prohibited by law. 4. Liability The renter assumes full responsibility for the conduct and safety of their event, attendees, participants, and audience members. Renters are responsible for following occupancy limits, fire code regulations, and venue safety requirements at all times. The renter is financially responsible for any damage caused directly or indirectly by themselves or anyone associated with their rental, including guests, vendors, cast and crew members, contractors, or participants. This includes damage to: * walls * floors * furniture * lighting equipment * sound systems * curtains * technical equipment * backstage areas * restrooms * lobby areas * exterior property Damage fees may include repair costs, replacement costs, labor, cleaning fees, emergency service fees, and operational downtime when applicable. 5. Indemnification The renter agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Main Street Creative Arts Center, Meta Mystics LLC, venue ownership, staff, volunteers, contractors, and representatives from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, legal fees, or expenses arising from the renter’s use of the facility, violations of venue policy, or actions of anyone associated with the rental. This does not apply in situations caused solely by proven gross negligence of the venue. 6. Insurance Requirements Main Street Creative Arts Center reserves the right to require proof of liability insurance for productions, public performances, large events, outside instructors, vendors, high-risk activities, or events involving alcohol. Failure to provide requested insurance documentation may result in cancellation of the booking. Any required insurance must remain active throughout the rental period. 7. Technical Equipment & Limitations Technical equipment provided by the venue may include lighting fixtures, lighting consoles, speakers, microphones, playback systems, cables, projectors, and staging elements. All equipment is provided as-is. The venue does not guarantee: * compatibility with renter equipment * uninterrupted operation * advanced technical support * specialized troubleshooting * specific software functionality Renters are responsible for providing qualified operators and backup planning for critical technical needs. Unauthorized modification, tampering, rewiring, or unsafe use of technical equipment is prohibited. 8. Internet, Utilities & Operational Interruptions Main Street Creative Arts Center is not liable for interruptions involving internet service, power outages, HVAC systems, plumbing, equipment malfunction, or third-party utility failures. Reasonable efforts will be made to restore operations when possible. 9. Prohibited Activities The following activities are prohibited unless specifically approved in writing: * pyrotechnics * open flames * hazardous materials * unsafe rigging * glitter * excessive fog or haze * weapons * illegal activity * unsafe stunts * unauthorized construction * drilling into venue structures * permanent alterations to the facility The venue reserves the right to immediately stop prohibited or unsafe activity. 10. Force Majeure Main Street Creative Arts Center shall not be held liable for failure to fulfill rental obligations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control. This includes severe weather, fire, flood, utility failures, government restrictions, public emergencies, civil unrest, labor shortages, acts of terrorism, building emergencies, or unavoidable facility closures. In these situations, the venue may offer rescheduling, venue credit, or alternate accommodations when possible. Cash refunds are not guaranteed. 11. Termination of Agreement Main Street Creative Arts Center reserves the right to immediately terminate a rental agreement if: * venue policies are violated * unsafe conduct occurs * illegal activity occurs * payments are not made * occupancy limits are exceeded * venue property is endangered * staff or guests are threatened or harassed Termination may occur without refund. 12. Refusal of Service Main Street Creative Arts Center reserves the right to refuse bookings or deny future rentals when necessary to protect venue operations, scheduling integrity, staff safety, community standards, or property condition. 13. Professional Recording Projects Professional photography, filming, livestreaming, commercial recording, or large-scale media projects require prior approval from venue management. Venue Branding & Representation Use of the venue name, logo, or likeness in promotional materials should accurately represent the relationship to the venue. The venue reserves the right to request removal of misleading or inappropriate content involving the facility. 6. Privacy & Sensitive Areas Photography and recording are prohibited in: restrooms designated changing areas private staff-only areas Guests and renters are expected to respect the privacy and comfort of others while recording onsite. 7. Venue Use of Media Main Street Creative Arts Center may use approved photographs or recordings for: social media promotional materials archival purposes marketing website content Individuals who wish to avoid promotional use of their image should notify venue management when possible. 8. Deposits All deposits are non-refundable. Production Packages & Extended Rentals Production deposits, rehearsal blocks, bundled hour packages, and extended rental agreements are generally non-refundable due to the amount of calendar space reserved. Unused rehearsal hours or canceled performance dates do not automatically qualify for refunds or credits. 5. No-Shows Failure to appear for a scheduled booking without communication is considered a no-show. No-shows are not eligible for refunds, credits, or transferred time. 6. Rescheduling Rescheduling requests may be considered when: sufficient notice is provided scheduling availability exists operational limitations allow Approval of rescheduling requests is not guaranteed. One courtesy reschedule may be granted at the discretion of venue management. Additional rescheduling requests may incur administrative fees. 7. Classes, Workshops & Events Refund eligibility for classes, workshops, camps, or ticketed events may vary depending on the event structure and instructor agreements. Approved Refunds Any approved refunds are issued solely at the discretion of Main Street Creative Arts Center. Coverage Requirements If required, renters must provide: A Certificate of Insurance (COI) General liability coverage with minimum limits determined by the venue based on the scope of the event Coverage active for all rehearsal, setup, performance, and strike dates associated with the booking The renter may also be required to list: Meta Mystics LLC dba Main Street Creative Arts Center as an additional insured party on the policy. Submission Timeline Proof of insurance must be submitted and approved prior to the start of the reservation period. Failure to provide required documentation may result in cancellation of the booking or denial of venue access until documentation is received. Responsibility for Damages Renters are financially responsible for: Damage caused by guests, performers, crew members, or vendors Damage to venue property, equipment, furniture, or technical systems Excessive cleaning or repairs resulting from the event Insurance requirements do not remove renter responsibility for damages or policy violations. Vendor & Contractor Responsibility Third-party vendors, instructors, performers, or contractors brought into the venue by the renter may also be required to carry their own insurance depending on the nature of their services.     A creative space for artists to learn, teach, perform, and experiment with their artforms. about main street creative arts center a note from our founder In June of 2025, Main Street Creative Arts Center became a place where I was allowed to be a beginner. Not because I didn't know anything, but because every new challenge asked me to learn something I had never done before. Running a creative space meant wearing hats I never expected to wear, making decisions without always knowing the outcome, and accepting that some lessons could only be learned through experience. Main Street didn't just become a place for artists, companies, and community members to learn and grow, it became that place for me too and in many ways, we were all figuring things out together. This space gave me permission to make mistakes publicly, learn from them, and keep going. It taught me that growth is often messy, creativity requires courage, and community is built one conversation, one event, and one lesson at a time. Somewhere between the successes and the setbacks, Main Street became more than a venue. It became a workshop for becoming; both for the artists who walked through its doors and for the person trying to build it. When I first opened these doors, I thought I was creating a space for artists. What I discovered was that the artists, theatre companies, musicians, teachers, performers, writers, and organizers who used the space were helping create it too. Over the last year, Main Street has hosted rehearsals, performances, workshops, classes, meetings, auditions, open mics, community events, listening parties, art projects, and plenty of ideas that didn't quite fit anywhere else. Independent artists found a place to experiment. Theatre companies found an affordable place to create and perform. Teachers found a place to share what they know. Community members found a place to gather around the things they love. Not every idea succeeded. Not every event sold out. Not every plan worked the first time. But that's part of what this space was built for. Creativity isn't just about polished performances and finished products. It's also about the messy middle. It's about trying something new, discovering what works, learning what doesn't, and having the opportunity to try again. At its heart, Main Street exists because I believe creativity should be accessible, not just affordable. A space like ours didn't exist. A space like ours has its quirks, but not every artist needs a perfect space. Sometimes they just need a place that says yes. A place where they can learn, practice, create, collaborate, and grow. A place where they are allowed to start before they have everything figured out. What started as a collection of rooms has slowly become a creative ecosystem shaped by the people who use it. Every booking, every rehearsal, every workshop, every performance, and every gathering adds another layer to its story. My favorite part is watching the spark of recognition happen when artists working on completely different projects cross paths. What begins as sharing a building often turns into sharing ideas, encouragement, and opportunities. There is community at Main Street.
