Director's Note
Sometimes, in order to find closure, we have to play things out in our minds; run the tape back, change the ending, imagine the conversation that never happened. The Lights Are On lives in that fragile space between memory and imagination, where the line between what’s real and what’s remembered starts to blur.

Throughout this story, you’ll be asked to question the truth - whatever that might mean. You may find yourself wondering what’s actually happening and what’s only being replayed inside someone’s head. But underneath the uncertainty, this play is really about one very human thing: the way we hold onto people who are already gone.

My hope is that you take away a sense of how grief reshapes memory, how love refuses to leave quietly, and how sometimes the hardest ghosts to let go of are the ones we create ourselves.
