Get political with your art. Audition for a fast, fearless Aristophanes Scene Showcase featuring Lysistrata, The Birds, and The Frogs. We’re seeking 10–16 bold performers who enjoy physical comedy, sharp satire, ensemble storytelling, and challenging the status quo.

About the event
Join Main Street Creative Arts Center for a bold, playful dive into the political comedy of Aristophanes.
This developing-artist showcase will feature selected scenes from three ancient Greek comedies that remain surprisingly relevant today:
Lysistrata — Women organize against war and refuse to cooperate until the men negotiate peace.
The Birds — Two men attempt to escape society and create a perfect world, only to discover how quickly idealism can become another form of power.
The Frogs — Dionysus journeys to the Underworld in search of an artist capable of helping save a city in crisis.
This project is more than a staged reading, but not quite a full production. Performers will explore character development, movement, physical comedy, costumes, props, and bold theatrical storytelling without the pressure of memorizing an entire play.
